Cyrrus has recently hosted a course in the use of the Ohio University Navaids Performance Prediction Model (OUNPPM), at its Thirsk office.
OUNPPM is a computer simulation and modelling tool for Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), VHF Omni-Range (VOR), and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME). The tool is used for system design and for safeguarding, and enables Cyrrus staff to determine the performance of these navigation systems in the presence of objects and terrain.
While Cyrrus has been using OUNPPM for several years, this course introduced our staff to a completely new Java based software package with improved functionality. This will enable us to provide an enhanced safeguarding and system design service to our customers.
The course was presented by Dr Simbo Odunaiya from Ohio University.
