As part of an ongoing framework agreement, Cyrrus is delighted to be supporting Ports of Jersey with the introduction of its new Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar for airport operations at Les Platons, located on the Island’s North Coast. Cyrrus is providing technical consultancy to define a rigorous Flight Trial Specification that will test the full capability of the radar and analyse its performance before final acceptance from the supplier. The task will provide Ports of Jersey with a thorough understanding of surveillance capability of the new Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar and provide a level of confidence in the system’s performance.
Cyrrus has undertaken a number of flight trial definition ad management projects for both primary and secondary radars in the last few years. Tasks have included the definition and production of Flight Trial Specifications, the coordination of the flight trial serials with both ground and air crew, the recoding of surveillance data directly from the radar and detailed analysis of that data, confirming performance in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements. The analysis culminates in the production of a comprehensive Flight Trial Report that clearly articulates any performance issues or deviation from the requirements.
This independent view provided by Cyrrus, ensures the procured system is fit for purpose prior to final acceptance and entry into service. Routine performance checks ensure the surveillance system remains fit for purpose throughout its life.
