Our trial lessons make excellent presents. They are suitable for all ages from 14 upwards and offer the opportunity to explore the Sussex countryside or provide an insight into flying for those wishing to become pilots.

Our Chief Flying Instructor and resident Examiner is a former British Airways pilot. Having learnt to fly at Shoreham he has returned to his first love General Aviation to pass on his experience.

Sussex Flying Club

Sussex Flying Club has just celebrated its 25 year anniversary, having been based at the airport since 1992, and is Shoreham Airport’s longest established Flight Training Organisation. The flight school offers excellent facilities in a first-class location to meet all of your training requirements.

The location of the school means students are able to observe aircraft taking off and landing, which assists their understanding of concepts explained in the classrooms. If you are a first time visitor maybe watching a friend or relative having their first flight with us you can see everything from the viewing area.

Flight Performance Training

FPT covers a variety of flight training. They are the only training organisation on the airfield that specialises in delivering Upset Prevention & Recovery Training ( UPRT ) with the aim to enhance flight safety. Their passionate instructors have decades of experience and have trained pilots at all stages of their careers. FPT operate from modern facilities in Hangar 4.

Shoreham Helicopters

Shoreham Helicopters has been based at Brighton City Airport since 2000 but have been in the business since 1980 and have extensive knowledge of the helicopter industry.

They offer full-time, intensive training or a programme designed around your availability – it’s up to you! They can supply you with all the necessary study books and materials, as required.

Shoreham Helicopters is fully approved by the Civil Aviation Authority to conduct courses of instruction leading to the issue of the Private Pilots Licence (Helicopter).
