Tours of the Airport

A Tour of our Iconic Airport

Delve into the fascinating past of the UK’s oldest airport with a guided tour. Put on by the volunteers at the airport museum these tours take you around the site, showing the Grade II listed terminal building and hangar and the runways.These tours take place during normal opening times and last around one hour.

The guided tour offers plenty of insight into the construction of the airport and its history, particularly during World War II when it was used as a base for the newly formed 277 Air Sea Rescue Squadron. As well as learning about the history of the airport and its surrounding area, you can also learn all about the current day airport and how it operates. Aviation enthusiasts and photographers alike, will enjoy this tour as it offers fantastic insight and wonderful photo opportunities.

Views of the resident aircraft are available throughout the tour and costs £5.00 (adults) or £3.00 (children and schools).

The service is expertly operated by volunteers and funded by donations.

Shoreham Airport Community Memorial

In front of the main terminal building there is a memorial dedicated to remembering those that gave their lives in past conflicts, and pay tribute to those who are connected or made a significant contribution to the Airport. Everyone is invited to use the area for a moment of reflection and quietly remember those who will never be forgotten. The site is open to the public during the Airport opening hours.
